4. Jesús vino a rescatarnos

5. Cree, arrepiéntete y vuélvete a Dios

I want to become a Christian

You are here because you know God exists and you want to know Him. That is no accident: God Himself placed that desire in your heart.

So you want to be a Christian? What does that mean?

1. Creation declares that God exists

Look around you: the sun, the stars, the oceans, the complexity of your own body. All creation bears witness that there is a God. The Bible says it this way:

because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse.— Romans 1:19-20

2. We were made to know Him

You are no accident. God created you in His image to live in a cooperative, loving relationship with Him. Knowing Him is eternal life.

So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.— Genesis 1:27

And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.— John 17:3

3. Sin broke that relationship

But sin entered the world through Adam and Eve, and we all live under the consequences of a world with sin. We have all sinned, and the wages of sin is death.

Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned.— Romans 5:12

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God— Romans 3:23

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.— Romans 6:23

And there is a real enemy: Satan. Because of sin, he had authority over our lives.

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.— 1 Peter 5:8

4. Jesus came to rescue us

But Jesus, God in human form, came to earth and lived a perfect, sinless life for the purpose of dying as a sacrifice for sin. He made a way for humanity to be reunited with God, breaking sin’s power and authority in our lives.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God... And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.— John 1:1, 14

For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.— Hebrews 4:15

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.— Romans 5:8

Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.— Colossians 2:15

This is the good news: the gospel.

5. Believe, repent, and turn to God

When we believe and repent and turn to God, the Bible says He transfers us from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light. We are born again.

Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out.— Acts 3:19

that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.— Romans 10:9

He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love.— Colossians 1:13

Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.— John 3:3

Take the step today

If you want to give your life to Jesus, you can do it right now with this prayer:

Jesus, I believe You are the Son of God. I believe You died for my sins and rose again. I repent of my sins and I give You my life. Make me a new person. Amen.
